Business information, made useful

What helps a business website qualify for Google AI search?

Focus on useful public content, crawlability and accurate information before chasing special AI files.

Start with a page customers can use

Explain what you offer, who you serve and how someone takes the next step. Put important facts in readable text. Clear navigation and useful internal links help visitors reach the right information. A tool that solves a real task can complement a guide, but a large page count is not a goal on its own.

Google does not require special AI markup

Google says its existing SEO fundamentals apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. It does not require special schema or new machine-readable files for those features. A page must meet its indexing and snippet eligibility requirements, and meeting requirements does not guarantee inclusion. These statements concern Google Search, not the requirements of every AI platform.

Use structured data accurately

Where relevant, use supported structured data that matches the visible content. Keep business information consistent across your site. Do not add reviews, ratings or addresses that do not exist. Structured data can communicate facts; it cannot substitute for a useful page.

Create industry guides with real differences

A restaurant needs kitchen-hour and menu guidance. A home-service business needs coverage and dispatch guidance. Reusing a layout is sensible when the underlying content changes to solve those different problems. Swapping an industry or city name into the same sales copy adds little value.

Measure before expanding

Use Search Console to inspect indexing, queries, impressions and clicks. Compare pages over time and improve those that attract relevant visitors. Also measure whether visitors use a tool or request your service. Indexing, clicks and sales are separate outcomes; none is guaranteed by publishing more pages.

A practical next step

Start with the information checklist, correct missing or inconsistent details, and publish the answers where customers can find them. Keep an update process as your business changes. A complete facts file is useful preparation, not proof that an AI assistant will find or recommend you.
