Using Muse

What Can You Actually Do With Muse on WhatsApp?

Use Muse from WhatsApp for short requests and follow-ups. Learn which tasks suit chat and when to move to a larger screen.

WhatsApp makes Muse useful at the moment a task occurs to you: while leaving a meeting, standing in a store or discussing weekend plans. The best request gives it enough context to start without making you type a long brief on your phone.

Meta's launch announcement confirms that people can talk to Muse directly in WhatsApp. It also describes work continuing after the app closes, with the agent returning when it needs approval.

Begin from your Muse account

Use the WhatsApp connection instructions presented by Muse for your account. This article doesn't assume a particular setup button, because we haven't verified the current signed-in flow.

Once connected, send a small request you can recognize in the conversation. Keep account setup separate from experimenting with a complicated errand.

Three requests that fit a phone screen

Turn an idea into a first step. “I want to organize a neighborhood dinner next month. Ask me the three details you need before making a plan.” This lets you supply missing information in short replies.

Narrow an existing search. “For the desk search, keep only options under 48 inches wide. Send me the best two with links.” Name the task so Muse knows which work to revise.

Get a decision summary. “Summarize the travel options in five bullets. Tell me which decision you need from me next.” A short summary is easier to use on a phone than a large comparison table.

A complete request to try

Research two dinner options near [location] for four people on [date] at about 7 p.m. We need [dietary requirement] and a budget of [amount per person]. Send the menu links and whether availability is confirmed or still needs checking. Don't reserve yet.

This original prompt gives the research a destination. It also keeps an unconfirmed suggestion from being mistaken for an available table.

When to open the full app or a larger screen

Move to a larger view when you need to inspect a document, compare many rows or review a complicated checkout. The fact that a task began in a chat doesn't make every decision suitable for a short message.

Before approving an action, read the actual recipient, date, item or total. If the summary leaves one out, ask for it. Avoid approving based only on “I found a good option.”

The useful habit

Use short messages to capture context as you think of it, then ask Muse for a compact status: what is done, what is still open and what needs your decision. That turns the conversation into a manageable handoff.
